PURPOSE:To increase the detection accuracy of a throttle opening, in a throttle opening detector which detects the opening of a throttle grip in a motorcycle, by mounting a magnet so that flux density by a flux detection means may be over a prescribed threshold in a range where a throttle opening is not zero. CONSTITUTION:This throttle opening detector is provided with holes IC1, 2 whose outputs invert when flux density is not less than (threshold + TH) or not more than (threshold - TH), and a magnet which is disposed so that the flux density at the hole IC1 may be not more than (threshold - TH) when the opening of a throttle grip 11 is zero. When the output of the hole IC1 inverts with the flux density not more than (threshold - TH), it is detected that the opening of the grip 11 is zero. Namely, the grip 11 is formed with the magnet 13 so that the flux density at the hole IC1 is not less than (threshold + TH) in a range where the opening of the grip 11 is not zero, and the hole IC1 is mounted so as to face the magnet 13 to detect that the opening of the throttle is zero.
