PURPOSE:To enable an electronic musical instrument to make a musical sound synthesis rich in controllability and playing effects by selectively switching a sound generating mode for designating the combination of musical sound generation in two musical sound signal generating circuits. CONSTITUTION:In two musical sound signal generating circuits 20 and 21, musical sound signals are generated with pitches corresponding to a key code KC that is given by a buffer register 18 in a digital form with tone colors in accordance with tone color information and simultaneously musical sound signals are generated with pitches corresponding to common designated pitches in accordance with the key code KC. During the above processes, the sound generating mode, which specifies the musical sound generation in the circuits 2 and 21, is selected from plural different sound generating modes. The sound generation is respectively controlled in the circuits 20 and 21 in accordance with the selected sound generating mode. Thus, the combination mode of sound generation in the circuit 20 and 21 is freely switched in accordance with the selection of a sound generating mode. |
