A drive unit (14) is used to move the folding door (6) in a horizontal direction (4) between an (un)locked position and a transport position (II) in which the ship deck is divided into separate bulkheads. The drive unit uses a hydraulic pump (15) or electric motor (16) to drive a cog pinion (17) mounted on the end door panel (6A). A cog bar (18) extending along a section of the rail (8) and along a wall engages with the pinion on the outer edge (62) of the end door panel to position the cogs in vertical alignment with each other.
