Sunbed comprising an elongate panel in which a source which radiates ultraviolet light is held, and support means for supporting the panel. The panel has a substantially horizontal active position for tanning a person lying beneath the sunbed. The sunbed also comprises a screen which is preferably assembled from cloth and, in the active position of the panel, extends above the panel. The sunbed preferably comprises means for moving the screen between an active position above the panel and a storage position.
