The fabric consists of a textile panel (6) which can adopt two different configurations - one flat and the other tubular or pleated. It incorporates a continuous draw-thread with at least one free gripping end (5a, 5b), attached to the panel by fixing points (8) situated on either side of a centre line (11) parallel to one of its main edges and causing the panel to fold into pleats when pulled. The fabric layer is made from warp and weft threads, and the fixing points (8) of the draw thread run parallel to one of these, leaving the draw thread in a wavy or zigzag line.
