The package has packing paper (1) wrapped around the stack to closely envelope the stack. The packing paper is folded at the ends of the package as superimposed end flaps (3a-c) which are affixed to close the package at the ends. A tear tab (6) is provided between the edges of the topmost end flaps (3c). The tab is attached to the inside of the packing paper so that it can be torn off from the package for the entire length to open the package in such a way that the packing paper is simultaneously torn for its entire width. Two spaced-apart perforations (4a,4b) are provided in the packing paper between the topmost end flaps to extend for the entire width of the packing paper. The tab is attached to the packing paper between the perforations.
