The purpose of the system of automatic telephone transmission and reception of messages previously recorded at high speed forming the subject of the invention, is to expedite the transmission of messages between telephone terminals based on reducing the line occupation time and the cost of the call, all to the benefit of the service user. This system, consisting of at least two sets (A and B) each corresponding to a subscriber, both connected to the telephone line (LT), each of which further incorporates a conventional telephone terminal, an automatic answering machine fitted with a mechanical, electrical or electronic type of speed selector and equipped with two recording and magnetic reproduction devices 1 and 2, a keyboard 3 identical to that of conventional answering machines, a system of controls 4 and, completing the equipment, a speaker system 5 and an ear-piece 6.
