Helical scan reproduction equipment for magnetically recorded, digital information signals

The equipment includes a rotary drum (1) with magnetic heads (4) mounted round it. A magnetic tape (3) contg. a digital information signal is wound round the drum and includes a number of tracks. A track setting unit controls the speed of the tape. A change-over switching unit (12) selectively generates a track error signal and a track setting error signal. A phase control (17) regulates the tape speed on the basis of the setting of the change-over unit so that the position error is reduced to zero.
