PURPOSE:To obtain the subject preventing agent capable of preventing a strip broken by an abnormal rolling phenomenon (rolling of an overlapped tail of steel) in a hot rolling roll from fusing to the roll and cracks from propagating by blending calcium carbonate with a water-soluble polymer and water in a specific proportion. CONSTITUTION:This preventing agent comprises (A) 5-50wt.%, preferably 10-50wt.% calcium carbonate, (B) 0.3-20wt.%, preferably 0.5-10wt.% water-soluble polymer (preferably a cellulosic nonelectrolytic water-soluble polymer such as methyl cellulose) and (C) the remainder of water. Calcium carbonate having 0.1-10mum average particle diameter is preferred as the component (A). A preservative, a rust preventing agent, etc., as necessary, can be added to the preventing agent. |
