<p>Decorative and/or security media particles, in liquid or solid form, are transferred without the use of heat or high pressures to a substrate (1) by first printing a plurality of discrete raised semi-rigidized sharp-edged adhesive images (8) onto the surface of the substrate, using some form of radiation (9) to render the adhesive tacky, and then bringing particles of the media into contact with the surface of the tacky images whereby the media particles are permanently retained by the images on the substrate. Alternatively, the media particles may be part of the adhesive composition.</p> |
