PURPOSE:To obtain much effect, especially, on data base constitution by making it possible to alter the structure of a data base without correcting client applications with respect to the communication controller for the client/server system. CONSTITUTION:A data base server 200 is equipped with a communication DB control mechanism 220, in which a communication DB 221 wherein service definition information 301 is registered is provided. The service definition information 301 includes input table definition information 303I and response table definition information 303R and the formats of an input table and a response table are defined with those pieces of definition information. The client applications 110 and a server application 210 mutually send and receive data to and from each other through those tables.
