Safety laboratory workbench

The safety workbench with a working zone and operating units, such as for biological laboratores, has an ultra-violet radiator in a housing (7) which is transparent to UV light directed at the working zone (2). The housing rides on guides (9) at the front side for height adjustment, and moves along the outer side of the viewing window (6) and the working opening. When in the lower position, covering the working opening, it lies against the viewing window (6) and gives a gas-tight sealing to the working opening.
