Removal of animal odours from animal housing

Effluent air flows through the horizontal channel (6) which has a packing (12) across the entire cross-section. The air inlets and/or outlets (8, 10) are arranged at the sides of the channel (6), and have blowers (48), pref. axial-flow blowers (48). The packing is sprayed from the airflow inlet side, with the biologically-treated wash water. Excess wash water on the floor (22) of the channel is intercepted for treatment. On the face of the channel there are control- and maintenance ports (50). Sprayers (14, 16) cover the cross section of the channel, the nozzles (20) fed by distribution pipework.
