The invention relates to a cutting apparatus (2) for slicing thin planks from squared timber. The knife (10) arranged in the cutting apparatus (2) is fixed on a knife holder (12). The knife holder is engaged with a base body (20) of a knife carrier (18). The knife carrier (18) can be inserted into the knife table (8) as a changeable constructional unit and can be clamped therein in a positionally accurate manner. The cutting apparatus (2) is or can be assigned conveying means, designed as a turntable (30), by means of which the knife carrier (18) can be moved out of the cutting apparatus (2). The conveying means can be arranged fixed in position or moveable. According to the invention, supporting areas (38) for knife carriers can be provided, it being possible for the supporting areas to be integrated into the conveying means, if appropriate. <IMAGE> |
