<p>PURPOSE:To provide a water retention material for a humidifier in which water absorption properties and dynamic characteristics are enhanced and adsorption of offensive odor from the atmosphere is reduced by specifying porosity, percentage of water absorption, water droplet absorption properties and bending strength of a polyester fiber sheet. CONSTITUTION:Water is supplied from a water supply pipe 3 onto a top board 1. Water is propagated from the top board 1 to the whole water retention material 2 and diffused thereto. When wind is supplied from the leeward side, wind is humidified by water penetrated into the water retention material 2 and sent to the windward side. The water retention material 2 is provided at suitable intervals and provided with many continuous pores perforated from one side to other side and formed of a polyester fiber sheet covered with a hydrophilic polyester resin. Porosity of the sheet is 40 90'/. and percentage of water absorption is at least 40%. Water droplet absorption properties are regulated to a range within 3 seconds and bending strength is regulated to at least 30kgf/cm<2>. Thereby water absorption properties and dynamic characteristics of the porous sheet are increased and adsorption of a bad smell is reduced.</p> |
