ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC CARRIER, TWO-COMPONENT DEVELOPER USING THAT CARRIER AND PRODUCTION OF THAT CARRIER

PURPOSE:To provide an electrophotographic carrier having excellent durability and environmental stability of electrification characteristics with which high quality and high precision full-color copy images can be stably obtd., and to provide a two-component developer using this carrier and the production method of this carrier. CONSTITUTION:This carrier for a two-component developer is used for a developer comprising at least a toner and a carrier. The carrier has the following features. (1) The carrier used for the developer us coated with a coating resin layer having >=10<13>OMEGAcm specific resistance under conditions of 23 deg.C and 50% RH. (2) The coating resin layer contains a charge controlling agent. (3) The average particle size of the carrier is <=100mum. (4) The specific resistance of the carrier is >=10<12>OMEGAcm. (5) Carrier particles having >=90% coating rate of the core surface are >=80 number% of the whole carrier particles. This invention includes a two-component developer using this carrier and the production method of the carrier.
