ARAMID-POLYESTER LAMINATE, INTERMEDIATE MATERIAL THEREOF AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To provide an aramid-polyester laminate in which flexibility, mechanical characteristics and electrical insulation properties are excellent. CONSTITUTION:An aramid-polyester laminate is produced by sticking a polyester film to aramid paper consisting of aramid pulp and aramid fiber. In this case, the polyester is previously melted and at least the surface of aramid paper is impregnated with the molten polyester. The polyester film is superposed on the aramid paper so as to come into contact with the impregnated layer, heated and pressurized in a specific condition. Thereby the laminate is obtained in which the polyester film layer is strongly joined to the aramid paper layer without using an adhesive.
