<p>PURPOSE:To provide a ditching and direct-sowing apparatus for forming a sowing ditch and directly sowing seeds delivered from a side of a seed-holding cylinder to the bottom of the sowing ditch, effective for saving the labor of sowing work and decreasing the frequency of the use of machine to suppress the outbreak of diseases and insect damages and capable of increasing the yield of rice. CONSTITUTION:A herbicide to kill weeds to the root such as roundup is scattered on an unplowed rice field. A shaft 4 having rollers 1, 2 at both ends and extending through a worm gear 3 is supported at both ends with joint rods 5, 5'. A V-shaped sowing ditch is formed on the surface of the rice field by a V-ditch digging part of the sowing apparatus holding a steering rod 7 fixed to a lateral stem 6 which is supported at both ends on the opposite ends of the joint rods. Rice seed subjected to germination-promotion treatment by immersion is dusted with a germination-protecting agent Kalvar and sowed by passing through a side of a sowing cylinder 8 placed at the back of the sowing apparatus. When the sprout is grown to expose the tip of the sprout above the V-ditch, soil is applied for weeding and completely stopping the tillering to grow exclusively the main stem. The apparatus enables the harvest of a small number of large ears, saves the labor and increases the yield of rice.</p> |
