PURPOSE:To provide a tread pattern applicable to passenger car pneumatic tires, which is attached with great importance to its maneuvering capability, has its pattern noise resistance low, and is excellent in wet performance. CONSTITUTION:Pattern noise can be restrained because only directional inclined slit grooves 41 to 44 are arranged on the central side of the respective treads of a pair of circumferential main ribs 21, 22 and a pair of circumferential sub- ribs 23, 24 and no other directional inclined wide groove whatever is arranged thereon. As to draining capability on a wet road, drainage channels are composed of directional low inclined wide grooves 36 to 38, which have a little inclining angles against the circumference and arranged approximately in the respective central part of a pair of circumferential main ribs and a pair of circumferential sub-ribs, and directional highly inclined wide grooves 31, 32, 35, 36 which are connected toward the kick out direction, and finally water in the circumferential main ribs is drained to a pair of circumferential sub- grooves 13, 14 and water in circumferential sub-ribs is drained to both ends of the tread. |
