PURPOSE:To obtain a slider member for a magnetic head with which the resistance at the time of sliding on a recording medium and the wear of the medium and the slider itself are less and which does not generate a clash. CONSTITUTION:This slider member for magnetic head consists of glass carbon derived from a polycarbodiimide resin. This process for producing the slider member for magnetic head comprises molding the polycarbodiimide resin or a compsn. mainly consisting of the polycarbodiimide resin into a proper shape, then carbonizing this compsn. to form a glassy carbon and forming the carbon to the slider member for generating buoyancy at the floating type magnetic head. Further, the slider member described above is used as the slider member to generate the buoyancy in the floating type magnetic head for writing and reproducing information to and form a magnetic recording medium in the construction of the magnetic head. |
