PURPOSE:To obtain a germicidal composition mainly for agricultural/ horticultural use, having a highly active and wide antifungal spectrum against a highly wide range of plant disease injuries, consisting of a specific compound such as phenylamide derivative and phthalimide-based germicidal compound(s). CONSTITUTION:This germicidal composition consists of a combination of a compound of formula I [Ar is a (substituted) phenyl; Y is O, oxymethylene or methyleneoxy; X is NR<1>R<2> or OR<3> (R<1>-R<3> each is H or a lower alkyl)] and phthalimide-based germicidal compound(s). The compound of formula I is e.g. N-methyl-alpha-methoxyimino-2-[(3-chlorophenoxy)methyl]phenylacetamide of formula II, methyl alpha-methoxyimino-2-[(2-methylphenoxy)methyl]phenylacetate of formula III. The phthalimide-based compound(s) is pref. at least one kind selected from folpet, captan, and captafol. This composition is effective against neck rot, helminthosporium leaf spot, sheath blight, powdery mildew (barley, wheat), scab, brown rust, etc. |
