PURPOSE:To improve heat transfer property by inserting a spiral member into a metallic pipe substantially coaxially with the same under a condition that the spiral member is contacted with the inner wall surface of the metallic pipe. CONSTITUTION:A heat transfer member 14, consisting of a spiral member formed of a metallic mesh, is inserted into a metallic pipe 1, used as the container 3 of a heat pipe 2 and made by a smooth copper pipe, substantially coaxially with the metallic pipe 1 so as to be contacted with the inner wall surface of the metallic pipe 1. The heat transfer member 4 can be made of a material, never be melted by heat upon operating the heat pipe 2 and having good heat conductivity. The heat transfer member is formed of copper wires, for example, and fine grooves 5 for transferring heat are formed on the surface thereof while the heat transfer area thereof is increased. The heat transfer member 4 can be fixed to the inner wall surface of the metallic pipe 1 by welding and the like or can only be inserted without fixing or can be fixed by own elastic force of the heat transfer member 4. |
