PURPOSE:To provide a optical transmitter in which composite distortion in an optical output signal is reduced without the use of an expensive low distortion device and super-multiplexing of transmission channels is realized. CONSTITUTION:Data of transmission channels (f11-fm1)-(fin-fmn) are subjected to frequency division multiplexing by each of frequency division multiplexers 21-2n, which provide outputs of multiplexed electric signals 61-6n, and optical modulators 31-3n sequentially apply intensity modulation to a DC light 4 from a laser diode 1 based on the multiplexed electric signals. |
