METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SEGMENTING THREE-DIMENSIONAL REFERENCE PICTURE

PURPOSE:To extend a conventional reference picture segmenting method so as to treat a three-dimensional picture. CONSTITUTION:This three-dimensional reference picture segmenting device has plural means 2 for calculating local Fourier transformation for executing Fourier transformation in each small area obtained by dividing right and left pictures corresponding to right and left eyes which are permitted to be overlapped to each other and parallax is expressed as a phase difference or a pattern of a Fourier transformation power spectrum by using a means 4 for finding out the phase difference of Fourier transformation from the right and left local Fourier-transformed images of a reference picture previously stored in a storage device 3 or a means 5 for finding out a Fourier transformation power spectrum. A picture coincident with the reference picture including the parallax is segmented from either one of results obtained by the means 4, 5 and the local Fourier-transformed image of an input picture including the reference picture through a means 6 for predicting the same object image, a means 7 for calculating local inverse Fourier transformation and a means 8 for finding out a geometric mean between pictures.
