PURPOSE: To provide a method for coating lens which can make cyclic operations possible and can be integrated with a complicated manufacturing process, having a pre-processing process a post-processing process and by which lenses to be coated can be supplied to the succeeding manufacturing method or just-in-time manufacturing process. CONSTITUTION: In an in-line method and device for coating a optical lens S, especially composed of a plastic with a transparent protective layer P and a single or multiple transparent optical layers (O), at least two vacuum processes are provided. In the first process, a prescribed number of lenses is simultaneously coated with transparent protective layers P, having thicknesses of 0.5-10μm by using the PCVD method in a coating zone. A partial number of new lenses is continuously supplied to the coating zone in the first process and the partial number of lenses is taken out after coating. In the second process, the partial number of taken out of lenses is coated with a single or multiple transparent reflections, reducing the optical layers O having a thickness thinner than that of the protective layer P. |
