PURPOSE:To provide an optical fiber converter to be provided between transmitting apparatuses to be connected to different kinds of optical fibers. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber converter has an O/E converting circuit 1 which outputs an electric signal as data by converting a light signal transmitted by a GI type optical fiber cable into the electric signal and outputs an alarm signal (RIN) when the light signal is not inputted, an E/O converting circuit 4 which outputs a light signal to an SM type optical fiber cable connected to a second transmitting apparatus by converting data into the light signal and outputs alarm signals (SOUT and CUR) when light power of the outputting light signal becomes a prescribed value or less and when a driving current of a light emitting element of the outputting light signal becomes a prescribed value or more and an alarm display part 7 which receives alarm signals from the O/E converting circuit 1 and the E/O converting circuit and displays alarms corresponding to the alarm signals. |
