PURPOSE: To provide a method for improving the quality of display (print) pattern formed from pixels. CONSTITUTION: First of all, an original pixel pattern is stored in a bit-mapped memory 12. The small block of bit-mapped pattern (input tile) is operated as the index of look-up table 18 including a corrected pixel pattern section (output tile) corresponding to the target pixel to be corrected in the input tile. The output tile can be printed with dpi(dots per inch) higher than that of original pixel pattern in both horizontal and vertical directions as well. When it is detected the original pixel pattern is not a text but one part of image, no correction is performed to pixel data. In this method, an input tile exception is detected not to receive the ordinary correction to be executed to the other input tile. There are cases that such exceptions are the detections of stray dots, slits and tick in a line composed of pixels. These exceptions are suitably corrected. |
