The system for dispensing liquids, such as beer, from an air-tight container utilises air pressure generated by a battery-driven motor contained within the assembly.A beer container (3) is provided with a tap (5) and outlet tube (7). A transfer tube (15) reaches almost to the bottom of the container, and is provided with a hole (41) through which pressurised air fills the space (9) above the fluid surface (40). Batteries (24) drive a motor (23) and compressor (28) when a switch (25) is operated. Pressure differential is detected by a sensor (27) and electronic control (26) to switch the motor off at a pre-determined level. Air is admitted through an inlet (21) controlled by a valve (22).
