POLYESTER FIBER FOR REINFORCING POLYOLEFIN-BASED RESIN MOLDING AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To improve adhesiveness to a polyolefin-based resin by treating a polyester fiber with a treating solution containing an epoxide compound and an ionomer resin. CONSTITUTION:A polyester fiber bundle is immersed in a treating solution containing (A) an epoxy compound and (B) an ionomer resin in a wt. ratio of the components A/B of 0.01-1.0 and dried and heat-treated in order to improve adhesiveness to a polyolefin-based resin to provide the objective polyester fiber for reinforcing polyolefin-based resin moldings. Furthermore, the polyester fiber bundle may be coated with the ionomer resin after previously treating the fiber bundle with the epoxy compound.
