PURPOSE:To obtain a roll adequate for improving product durability by forming a protective layer consisting of a specific resin compsn. and having a prescribed thickness on the outer peripheral surface of a resistance adjusting layer, thereby suppressing the image defects and unequal images, etc., induced at the time of prolonging the life of the roll and preventing generation of black stripes. CONSTITUTION:This roll is constituted by successively laminating and forming a base layer 12, the resistance adjusting layer 14 and the protective layer 16 on the outer peripheral surface of a metallic conductive shaft body (arbor) 10. The protective layer 16 to be formed on the resistance adjusting layer 14 is formed by using a fluororesin. In such a case, the protective layer 16 is formed by using a conductive material formed by compounding conductive fillers at a prescribed ratio with the fluororesin exhibiting hardness of Shore hardness (D type) of <=65 deg.. A fluororesin compounded to have the Shore hardness (D type) of <=65 deg. according to the compsn. and degree of polymn. thereof is selected from, for example, solvent soluble vinylidene fluoride-propylene hexafluoride-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer, etc., is used as such fluororesin. |
