PURPOSE:To prevent musical performance data which are already recorded from being erased inadvertently by misoperation by detecting a free track and recording musical performance data on the free track. CONSTITUTION:With a record button 196 pressed, it is decided whether or not musical performance data are already recorded on a rhythm track when a rhythm timbre is selected. When the rhythm track is in a free state, the rhythm track is selected as a track for musical performance data recording and the LED 201a attached to a button 201 for rhythm track selection illuminates. When a timbre other than the rhythm timbre is selected, it is decided whether or not musical performance data are recorded on tracks 1-4 in order. If there is a track where no musical performance data is present, the track is selected and the LED corresponding to the selected track among the LEDs 202a-205a attached to buttons 202-205 for track selection glows. |
