The catch, e.g for fastening a piece of electronic apparatus to a panel so that only its front face projects, consists of a fixing member with projections (CR3, CR4) shaped to engage with matching components on the side walls of the apparatus housing, and a thrust member which is able to slide relative to the fixing member and has a curved thrust face (Fc) at one end. The two members have inclined and reciprocal guide faces and a spring (R) between them to hold the catch in the engaged position. Both are made for a moulded plastic material.The projections on the fixing member are in the form of L-shaped hooks which engage with apertures in a side wall of the apparatus housing, and the thrust element has a transverse shield (B1) at one end in the form of a section of a cylinder.
