<p>PURPOSE:To certainly prevent the generation of a white or black stripe by setting the waiting time of the start of the application of voltage to a thermal head with respect to the start of feed operation to a proper time at every line. CONSTITUTION:A line thermal printer is equipped with a line thermal head 1 having a plurality of heating elements arranged thereto, a stepping motor driving a platen, an ink ribbon and a feed roller feeding a printing medium and a voltage applying part 30 applying voltage to the thermal head at the time of printing operation. The waiting time data at every lines from a point of time when the driving of the feed roller is started to a point of time when the voltage applying part starts the application of voltage are calculated so that a line pitch becomes a desired one and the calculated waiting time data are preliminarily stored in a memory A23. At the time of printing operation, a system control part 25 reads the corresponding waiting time from the memory A23 and controls the application start timing of voltage on the basis of the waiting time data.</p> |
