PURPOSE:To immediately and relatively easily examine the genuineness of a medium itself to effectively and rapidly respond to the erasure and interpolation of magnetic recording information or the like by a method wherein a metallic reflection layer, an identification layer, and a rewritable thermal recording layer are successively laminated on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A card 1 as a medium having a security function is formed by successively laminating a metallic reflection layer 12, a bar code printing layer 13 as an identification layer, a rewritable thermal recording layer 14, and a protective layer 15 on a substrate 11. As the substrate 11, paper or synthetic paper made of a plastic is used. As the metallic reflection layer 12, an aluminum or the like is used so that it can be formed by a vacuum deposition. The bar code printing layer 13 is made of normal printing ink by a printing technique. The protective layer 5 is made of a heat resistant material. The thermal recording layer 14 reversibly changing in transparency in a temperature- dependent manner is formed by using its properties that the light scattering properties thereof are reversibly changed in a temperature-dependent manner. |
