The invention relates to a device of low-pressure self-exciting and self-generating the arc, one and more auxiliary resistance wires are arranged between one pair of main electrode, also only one end of the auxiliary resistance wire is electrically connected to one of the pair of main electrode, other end is extended to the other electrode, but a gap which is less than the distance between electrode pairs is held from the electrode, thereby an equivalent breakdown gap between electrodes is shortened, ignition voltage is decreased, the device is simple and reliable, suitable for mounting to gas discharge lamps.
