PURPOSE:To cause horizontal forces generated by a load to be independently absorbed by bridging an extensible supporting beam, providing a tension member in the form of arc in such a manner that the opposite ends thereof are pulled toward each other, placing a floor plate on the beam and making movable one of the fixing ends of the member. CONSTITUTION:A supporting beam 1 in the form of an arch is made up of a plurality of divided beams 2a, 2b, 2c having an arcuate shape. The opposite ends of the intermediate beam 2b are placed between the beams 2a, 2c to allow it to extend. A plurality of the supporting beams 1 are parallelly bridged on the ground, with the opposite ends thereof being fixed to foundations 4, 4. One of the foundations 4, 4 is mounted on a bearing 5 to make it movable. When a load is applied on the bridge beam, compression forces are imparted to floor plates 7 on the beam 1 due to contraction of the beam 1, however, horizontal forces generated by the load are not exerted on the ground. |
