PURPOSE:To prevent overcurrent flowing in switching transistrs by floating the respective electrodes of a matrix panel for a fixed period and enabling the effect of accumulated charges to be reduced during that time. CONSTITUTION:The PH signal applied to the input terminal of a transistor Ta is logically made ''1'' only during the t3 period. At this time, a potential of +VE is kept held until a signal PHG(e) is applied to the EL element. within the t4 time the accumulated charges of the transistors Ta, Tb run out and the transistors Ta, Tb become perfectly OFF until the signal PHG(e) is applied. Because of this, in the tdl period all the transistors become ON and overcurrent will no longer flow. The signal PHG is logically ''1'' only during the t5 period, and flowing of overcurrent between the transistors in the td2 period owing to the effect of acccumulated time will not occur. |
