PURPOSE:To obtain a copper phthalocyanine minimized in impurities such as free copper, improved in the dislocation rate of a crystal form and capable of readily forming into a pigment by reacting phthalic acids with ureas and a copper compound using a Mo catalyst and a specific promotor under heating. CONSTITUTION:This compound is obtained by reacting (A) a phthalic acid (derivative) with (B) a urea (derivative) and (C) a copper compound using (D) a MO (compound)catalyst and (E) a Ru compound and/or an Os compound as a promotor in the presence of an inert organic solvent such as an alkyl benzene or dichlorotoluene under heating. Furthermore, an amount of the component E to be used is preferably 1-5000ppm, especially preferably 5-1000ppm expressed in terms of a Ru and/or Os based on the component A. |
