A color-tone correcting apparatus includes a first device for detecting a greatest signal of first input component video signals, and outputting the detected greatest signal. A second device serves to remove smalllevel components from the output signal of the first device, and to limit an amplitude of the output signal of the first device to within a predetermined amplitude. A third device serves to add an output signal of the second device and a second input component video signal.
