Ultrasonic welding method

The wire ends (22) of coils are ultrasonically welded to the connection lugs (20) of a collector lamella (18) by clamping in place the body carrying the runner coils (10), inserting anvil sections (44,46) in between the coils (10) and the lugs (20) and lowering a ring-shaped sonotrode (60) onto the wires (22). Welding of several or all the wire ends to the lugs is then effected by torsional vibration of the sonotrode.
