The apparatus and method is for supervising a compressed 3:4 video data and uncompressed 9:16 video data exclusively. The apparatus includes a microprocessor(14) for detecting frame ratio changing signal, a frame ratio changer(16) for changing frame ratio according to the control signal of the microprocessor(14), a video data compensator(20) for compensating video data when frame ratio is changed, and a D/A converter(18) for controlling R,G,B signal according to output signal of the compensator(20).
