PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of electric trouble by attaining the desired electrification potential when voltage is applied to a photorecptor contact member such as an electrifying roller at a relatively low temperature. CONSTITUTION:This image forming device is provided with an electrifying roller 2 applying voltage to a photoreceptor l in the contact state, a temperature detecting means 20 detecting the surface temperature with a temperature detecting element 35, and a moving means 40 moving the portion of the temperature detecting element 25 to a position in contact with the surface of the electrifying roller 2 and a position in no contact with that. The voltage applied to the electrifying roller 2 is controlled in response to the temperature detected by the temperature detecting means 20, thus the desired electrification potential can be attained even if the device is used at a relatively low temperature. When voltage is applied to the electrifying roller 2 at the position where the portion of the temperature detecting element 25 is separated from the electrifying roller 2, no electric noise is infiltrated into the temperature detecting means 20, and an electric trouble can be prevented. |
