Pressure coil spring with ground contact faces

The pressure coil spring is made of spring wire with open spring ends (10,14). It may have a ground face (18) at one or both free ends (16). The ground face is formed from the end to 200 deg. up to 340 deg. along the length of the end coil. The wire thickness is continuously reduced to one third of the original thickness to the end of the spring. The end coil is bent by applying an axial load forming a parallel contact face.
