The reactor has a base part in which a stirring device and monitoring and control elements and equipment are arranged, and has a tightly fitting lid, there being inserted between the base part (1) and the lid (2) an intermediate part (3) which, on use as fluidised-bed reactor and/or fixed-bed reactor, has in its lower region a support through which gas bubbles can pass, in particular a support plate (4), for a matrix (8) loaded with biocatalysts or biocatalyst matrix, there being provided a circulating line (5) which starts from the upper region of the intermediate part (3) and leads to the base part, and the stirring device (12) being designed as pump.
