<p>PURPOSE:To enable the easy removal of jammed paper under a transfer belt by providing a means for moving the belt for recording paper in a direction opposite to a copying process when the paper has jammed in a copying machine proper. CONSTITUTION:When recording paper has stagnated in a copying machine and jammed before discharge through a fixing port 16, a transfer belt unit 1 turns down a transfer belt unit release lever 17, thereby lowering an idle roller 4 and releasing contact between sensitive material drums 5-8 and a transfer belt 2. Consequently, the recording paper jamming above the transfer belt unit 1 can be easily removed. When the recording paper has been carried under the unit 1, adsorbed on the transfer belt 2 without enough removal of electrical charge, however, a transfer belt reversal switch on a jam treatment panel is turned 'ON' and the running of a transfer belt drive motor is reversed, thereby carrying and stopping the recording paper on the unit 1 for the easy removal thereof.</p> |
