A device for enriching the content of a gas in a liq. has a component (806) in the form of a hollow body rotating at high speed. A thin film of liq. is formed on the inner surface (806b) of the body as a result of centrifugal force, in the presence of the gas. An inlet (803) and outlet (811,813,12) passage for the liq. are so arranged that the part of the surface onto which the liq. is applied is at an axial distance from the outlet passage. The hollow body is a vertical drum rotating about its axis of symmetry. The liq. is introduced onto the lower part of its inner surface, whilst the outflow passages are located near its top. The gas is introduced through a passage (10) near the liq. inlet, and the liq. and gas come into intimate contact with each other as they enter. The base of the drum (806a) is conical or convex, and the liq. is introduced onto its centre after passing through the gas in the form of droplets. A ledge (806d) protruding into the drum surface below or at the outflow passage determines the thickness of the film which is formed. At least part of the inner surface of the drum is of plastic material, esp. 'Piacryl' (RTM).
