Chopper for pulverising harvested material

The chopper has a rotary cylindrical drum (1) as drive member as well as a secondary pulveriser with two oppositely driven pulverizing rollers (5,6). The secondary pulveriser is mounted in the discharge shaft (4,7) about half way between the counter cutter (2) and rotary rim of the discharge curve (8). The width of the secondary pulveriser rollers preferably matches the taper of the discharge shaft. When not required the secondary pulverizer unit can be exchanged for a transition member matching the shape of the discharge shaft.
