The deflector is mounted against a rectangular water outlet (10) in the external face of the cross-piece (4) of the door or window frame (1), and comprises a support plate (12) which is applied tightly against the opening face. The support is fixed on the cross-piece by a pin with a locking tab (23), and has a supple rectangular strip (17) made with the support, having dimensions greater than the opening. The strip is pivoted by a hinge (18) on the support opposite the cross-piece to allow it to move out and disengage from the opening face. This enables the water contained in the cross-piece to flow freely to the outside. The support of the strip on the opening face prevents water entering the cross-piece from the outside.
