PURPOSE: To give audibility on a position in a visual object, namely, an audible indication to a computer user by fixing a place in which the user in the visual object is interested by using sound. CONSTITUTION: When a position identifier is moved from a view 204 to a view 206, for example, the user starts listening to sound. As the position identifier approaches a view area in the view 206, the intensity of sound increases. Thus, the user learns that a part which is frequently viewed on the visual object is coming near. When the user moves the position identifier over the center of the view area (toward the view area 206), the intensity of sound reduces and the user can learn that the position identifier parts from the center of the view area 204. The present position against the whole visual object 200 is informed to the user by listening to sound whose intensity changes. |
