The present invention relates to a device in machines with chip removal tools, e.g. crosscut machines for cutting of timber or the like, in which the material to be cut extends to and eventually past a work table (1), where a tool (2) being provided to machine the material, wherein a cover (25) being switchable between a protective position, in which the cover (25) provides a shield between the tool (2) and the material in the vicinity of the same and the surrounding at least in the direction of the operator, and a rest position, in which the cover (25) allows the operator availability to the place of machining. |
